So you may be wondering what geeky escapes are…. They are the things that keep this Hippy Dippy Geeky Chick grounded and happy. They range from great movies to great video games or just being outside and enjoying nature or studying the cosmos. My interests pretty much run the gamut from hippy-ism to total geek-out. A strange combination, I know, but I’m sure there are others out there like me. I love SciFi but I grew up at the Texas Renaissance Festival (my dad worked a booth for many, many years). So, if you feel a kinship with my odd class of culture, raise your hand high and proud and drop me a line or two.
The items you will find here will be my mass collections of rants and raves and holy cows! Sometimes I talk about video games (I’m still really diggin’ No Man’s Sky). Other times I will cover the latest James Bond or SciFi movie. I love both Star Wars (4, 5, 6, & 7) and Star Trek (all) movies. I am also a fan of the Punks…. Steampunk / Atomicpunk / Dieselpunk / Cyberpunk and sometimes I cover anything related to them whether it be books, movies, designs or just general culture.
I really enjoy studying quantum physics which I know is an odd thing considering that my degree is in History and Museology. But, I feel that I can juggle cattle kings and gunfighters, history of the Southwest Natives, and quarks, leptons, and fractals all at once. It’s all good! In fact I recently found a great TED Talk that explains my nature!
Multipotentialities! If you recognize yourself or your child in this talk, be proud. You probably have some great geeky escapes of your own.
So, if you are wanting a place to go and find fun stuff for your geeky side, I will always have something here for you. You can kick back and relax and know that you are in a safe place where there will be no judging…even between the punk camps or the super hero camps or the SciFi camps. You may not always agree with my review of something and that’s ok. That’s what makes us all unique. You are all free to be who we want to be...Like a Leaf on the Wind! If you know where that last bit came from, 30 points for you!
