Hi there! Welcome to my blog. I'm Jaime Haley, a non-conformist freelance writer living in America's Heartland.
At the beginning of 2015, I left my day jobs (yes, plural) and started my freelance career. I've always enjoyed writing and decided to take the advice I had given so many over the years: Don't just work, do what you love!
From that time forward, I have been writing non-stop. In the beginning, I spent most of my time rebuilding the website for our family's computer business. That was a major undertaking and currently the site has over 100 pages (all written by me) and a podcast and YouTube channel. I still serve as webmaster and resident Linux Geek.
This year, I started writing for Wonder and I love it! I enjoy a challenge and research is my forte. When presented with a research question, I am like a dog with a bone. I thoroughly research the project from all angles and don't let go until I feel I have gotten to the meat of the assignment.
My other great loves are creative writing, web content, and copy writing. Words on a page or screen are like music to me. I see rhythm in word usage and the thoughts expressed. Just like my varied tastes in music (from jazz to rock to classical and just about everything in between), I am very eclectic in the types of writing I enjoy. This ability to switch easily between different styles of writing serves my clients well.
I started the HippyDippyGeekyChick blog in 2014 as an outlet for my writing. Since that time it has gone through some changes (hosts and appearance) but has always served as the home for my writer's blog. I tackle topics like health and wellness for freelance writers, the joys of camping and the outdoors, and learning hacks.
As you can probably tell, I also love the challenge of NaNoWriMo. Again, the challenge of 50K words in a span of 30 days calls to me like a siren. Some think it is an insane pursuit; however, I thrive in challenge mode.
I hope you enjoy the offerings I serve up on my blog. Please join the conversation, I'd love to hear from you!
